Auto Collision Repair Technology
Description: The Auto Collision Repair Technology Program is designed to provide students with the skills, attitudes, and hands-on experience needed for entry-level employment within the autobody repair field. Training is provided in both major and minor collision repair and refinishing techniques utilizing a wide variety of tools and equipment.

Number Modules
ACT101

Occupational Fundamentals: This course provides an overview of the basic academic and technical skills in Automotive Collision Repair Technology. Safety, basic mathematics, tools, and hazardous communication are included in this fundamentals course.

ACT102

Minor Repairs: This course prepares the student to perform minor repairs including basic straightening, repairing plastic and composite, replacing hoods, bumpers and fenders, and servicing doors, glass and leaks.

ACT103

Prepainting Preparation: This course prepares the student to prepare a vehicle for painting including taping and masking as well as to prepare equipment and shop areas prior to paint application.

ACT104

Refinishing: This course prepares students to prepare, match and apply paint, apply decals, design and apply custom paint jobs and trim, and resolve paint-refinish problems.

ACT105

Major Repairs: This course prepares students to evaluate vehicle damage and perform needed repairs according to standard repair specifications.

ACT106

Other Operations: This course prepares students to replace structural parts, apply corrosion protection, and make interior, mechanical, electrical and restraint system repairs, and perform wheel alignments as necessary to the collision repair technician.

ACT107

Estimating and Entrepreneurship: This course prepares students to calculate and prepare estimates for collision repair, provides an overview of independent shop operation and skills necessary for long-term employment success.
