Description:
This program is certified by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.). It combines quality classroom study with practical hands-on training to help students acquire the skills needed to enter the automotive industry in one or more of the A.S.E. certification areas covered within the program. The certification areas covered in this course include: engine repair, brake systems, engine performance, electrical/electronic systems, suspension and steering, manual drive-train and axles, and heating and air conditioning.

| AST101 | Automotive Fundamentals: This course is designed to introduce students to basic academics, skills and techniques of automotive service including an overview of required entry-level tasks. | |
| AST102 | Heat and Air Conditioning Specialist: This course is designed to teach students the required diagnosis and repair skills for automotive air conditioning and heating systems. The NATEF-required tasks are addressed in both theory and work-based applications. | |
| AST103 | Automatic Transmission-Transaxle: This course is designed to teach students the required diagnosis and repair skills for automatic transmissions and transaxles. The NATEF-required tasks are addressed on both theory and work-based applications. Only offered in the evening through Adult Career Development. | |
| AST104 | Manual Drive Train and Axles: This course is designed to teach students the diagnosis and repair skills for manual drive trains and axles. The NATEF-required tasks are addressed in both theory and work-based applications. Only offered in the evening through Adult Career Development. | |

| AST110 | Career Experience: This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to provide a variety of automotive maintenance services in a shop-like atmosphere. Emphasis will be on diagnosis and repair but will include estimating techniques. | |
