Agricultural Machinery & Technology
Students will gain knowledge applicable to farm equipment and both gas and diesel engines in the areas of carburization, fuel injection, electrical systems, brakes, and power train.

Practical Nursing (Adult Students Only)
Opportunities for Practical Nurses (LPN) remain abundant and continue to grow. This twelve-month adult program utilizes clinical and classroom experience to train students for an entry-level position as a practical nurse.

Health Careers Certification
Students complete a common core
curriculum and then select at least one career pathway to study entry-level employment skills needed for employment. Work-based learning
opportunities are available in health care settings. Pathways include Dental Assisting, Veterinary Assisting, Nursing Assistant (NA), which leads to certification in both long-term care and home health care, and Medical Assisting Clinical Procedures. Curriculum will be individualized according to each student’s needs. Upon completion of HST I, students may begin one of the HST II career pathways.

Business Computer Education
This program is designed to provide secondary & adult students who want to earn a living as an administrative assistant with the occupational skills and knowledge essential to initial employment. Students will become skilled in the use of the latest equipment equal to that used by industry.

Multimedia Services
In this program, students will learn aspects of planning, creating, and managing multimedia projects in an integrated computer
environment. Students will add visual imagery, text, graphics, video, audio and animation to create multi-sensory projects. Design principles, HTML and cascading style sheets, use of digital cameras and video editing are covered.

Construction Trades
Students are prepared for entry-level positions in the construction field and to provide those employed in the construction field with opportunities for upgrading their skills. Students completing the 10 modules will be considered an occupational completer.

Financial Aid
Great Plains Technology Center can help you fund your education. Sources of financial assistance are Federal Pell Grant, Federal SEOG, Federal Work Study, or Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant. The Great Plains Foundation also provides scholarships. Other sources include JTPA and the Department of Human Services.

Education Enhancement Center
The EEC’s main objective is to ensure that all
students have access to the many programs and services available at GPTC. Services include: Career Counseling, Financial Aid Assistance, Job Placement Assistance, Diagnostic and Interest Inventories. Our goal is to help all students
complete the career program their choice.

What are the benefits of attending Great Plains Technology Center?

Great Plains Technology Center is a great way to get connected to careers, college credits and the future of learning.

How much does it cost to attend Great Plains?

Tuition is free for high school students. Students who attend Davidson, Frederick, Grandfield, Snyder, or Tipton High Schools and enroll in a regular daytime course for their Junior and/or Senior year will not be charged tuition.

How do I enroll?

Students may get an application for admission from the Great Plains counselor or their high school counselor. Selection is based on attendance, interest, GPA, and interview. Transcripts of high school course work with ACT scores, and an attendance report will accompany each application.

What if I am planning to go to college?

Great Plains’ cooperative agreements with several area colleges and universities allows students to earn college credits for the skills they master as a high school student at Great Plains. Credits are awarded by the participating colleges and universities.

What is the Next Step Scholarship?

Students, who graduate from a high school in the Great Plains District and enroll in a career-education program within two years of graduation, are eligible for a $1250 Next Step Scholarship.
