Data

Mass (kg) with wadding and engine: ________kg

Engine type: ____________

Thrust provided by engine: __________N-s

q

Base of triangle: ______________m

q at maximum height: _________degrees

Calculations

A) If Impulse = change in Momentum, and the formula is Ft=m(vi-vf).  Find the final velocity of the rocket (vf) at its maximum altitude (dmax) if the rocket starts from rest.

Ft is thrust (impulse) provided by the engine, m is mass in kg, find vf.

B) If you know the base of a triangle and the angle of inclination, q, then find the altitude of the rocket (dmax).  Use a trigonometric function which relates the angle, adjacent (base) and opposite (dmax) sides.
