Events at Great Plains Technology Center
June 7th through 11th, 2004, was the second joint Great Plains Technology Center and Cameron University Criminal Justice Summer Academy. High school and college students got hands-on experience as crime scene investigators, toured courtroom and correctional facilities, and witnessed dog handling and weapons demonstrations. New this year was Polygraph Testing, Narcotics Investigations, and Traffic Accident Investigation.

June 9th through 13th, 2003, was the first ever joint Great Plains Technology Center and Cameron University Criminal Justice Summer Academy. 37 high school and college students learned the ins-and-outs of law and law enforcement careers. The students got hands-on experience in the field as crime scene investigators, toured the courtroom and correctional facilities, and witnessed dog handling and weapons demonstrations. Events at Lawton High School
Lawton High School students received a glimpse into the world of a Crime Scene Investigator on September 4th, 2003. Sergeant Tommy Harrell from Lawton Police Department took eager students through the science of fingerprint analysis. Students learned the theory and science behind fingerprints, then applied this new knowledge to analyze samples.

Events at Cache High School
Cache High School students literally received a taste of being a Forensic Scientist in May 2003. Approximately 70 students participated in the Carolina Biological's "Caught By a Kiss" experiment. The students were gathered in groups of 3-4, and tested 5 different pieces of evidence to determine which piece had traces of saliva. The students thoroughly enjoyed this activity!
